Symposia: Ale of Athens

Branding  & Packaging

"Do not talk a little on many subjects, but much on a few." said Pythagoras who would’ve agreed that this is something worth talking about - The greek word ‘symposium’ which translates to a drinking party and also one of Plato’s most notable works is what inspired SYMPOSIA - The Ale of Athens...

A greek ale modeled around the greatest thinkers of all time - Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.

Design and Aesthetic

Wisdom begins with wonder, speculated Socrates

and the inception of Symposia too, began with wonder-

The logo was derived from cultural patterns and geometric shapes.

It is a good balance of historical seriousness and present-day quirk.

The blue represents calmness and the yellow is for vibrant curiosity.

These elements come together to emphasize the goofy and

young aesthetic of this drink.

Illustration

“Wise men speak because they have something to say, fools speak because they have to say something” prophesied Plato. The simple vector caricatures capture the essence of our four philosophers without saying much.

The illustrations portray Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle in a funny yet pensive environment. Olive leaves coming out of their nose, ears and arm pits, make humour the most important ingredient of this product.

Merchandise

“Quality is not an act, it is a habit” said Aristotle who would’ve endorsed the quality of this Merchandise. The t-shirt and tattoo originate from the initial design elements. They have slight variation and a choice in colour. These products are aimed at college students who love collectables and merchandise from their favourite brands.

Be prepared to feel smarter than you are as you sip these wise drinks and think about deep things.

Don’t just drink, philosophize your experience.
